Education

The children are exposed to a variety of daily activities that will include a combination of free-play, outdoor play (weather permitting), songs, stories, rhymes, music and dancing, and theme based preschool activities.   Children are also exposed to learning the letter of the day, number of the day and also basic sign language skills such as Thank You, Please, More, Drink and Eat.  The preschool curriculum is through a program called Early Start.  It is a complete curriculum program for children ages 2-5, available all year long.  Each month Early Start provides me new activities in math, science, reading readiness, colors, shapes, alphabet letter, and sound, pre-writing, thinking skills and discussions.   To enhance these activities we accomplish finger plays, poems, songs, games and physical activities.  The goal of preschool activities is to have fun and provide extra learning stimulation.  At the end of each month your children are able to take their activity papers that we have accomplished home and share with his or her family.  Also, provided is a monthly newsletter, keeps families informed of the learning activities provided at daycare.  Education television programs (Sesame Street, PBS, Super Readers, Caillou, etc.) and children’s videos are used occasionally.
